Nana (my mom's mom) left today to head back down to Arizona, where here house is and where she lives for half of the year (she prefers to be there during the winter months since it is warmer than Utah). Anyway, she had quite the little list prepared of things that she wanted/needed done before she left. Since she can only do so much on her own (a trip to Walmart often is enough to tire her out), most of the list fell to my mom and me to complete. I was in charge of the Christmas cookies (cook them now, freeze them, pull them out when it's Christmastime - makes it really easy!), taking Nana to a couple of store to buy my mom's Christmas and birthday gifts, and just other little odds and ends.
I was told I was needing to have all this done by today (Saturday) about a week ago.
Four different types of cookies.
It was a little daunting, especially since I still had Wesley to watch (and he is quite the active almost 10 month old) and my own list of things that needed to be done.
So I made the list of stuff we needed to buy and got ready to do the shopping.
Then Mindy, my little sister, called. She also wanted cookies. Luckily, one of the two she wanted was already on the list. All I had to do with that was add another batch. However, the other cookie that she wanted wasn't on the list.
Now my cookie list was up to five.
It looked something like this:
Peanut Butter Blossoms x4
Russian Tea Cakes x3
Pumpkin Cookies x2
Gingersnaps x4
Magic cookie bars x2
Just a little cookie list.
To make a long story short, I got them all done. 15 batches of cookies in 3 days. The freezer now has several freezer bags full of cookies.
Funny thing is, there are still at least three other types of Christmas cookies/goodies that need to be done. And at least double batches of each.
At least they are yummy!
